January kicked off wordpress with wordpress 5.0, wordpress’s biggest release in years. It’s been a long time coming – the wordpress team has been hard at work on these updates for over two years. The new version includes a brand-new default theme and a host of other big changes that are designed to give wordpress admins more control and make it easier for users to do what they need. wordpress is well known for its ease of use, but in recent versions it got harder to maintain your site without knowing code. Now wordpress 5.0 aims to close this gap by making some significant backend changes that will also improve security (and help wordpress become more mobile friendly). There have been many APIs added in several plugins for wordpress.
